Summary
We’re looking for a new curator to join our team. This exciting role offers you a unique opportunity to help us look after one of the most comprehensive historic collections in the world alongside a range of impressive buildings and beautiful landscapes. You’ll play a central role in interpreting these special places and creating engaging and inspiring experiences for our visitors.

Based either at our Regional Office in Altrincham or Grasmere you’ll work on four portfolios in Liverpool, Dunham Massey, Quarry Bank and Sizergh. Within these portfolios there are a fantastic range of properties, from Sizergh Castle in Cumbria, an industrial heritage site with a cotton mill at its heart, to the former home of Chambre Hardman or the Beatles’ Childhood Homes in Liverpool. As part of a national consultancy there will also be opportunities to work in other areas.

What it’s like to work here
The National Trust Consultancy is the home to specialists in every field of our work. A national consultancy, where resources are shared across disciplines and boundaries, it’s proving to be a great repository of skills, talent and experience. The diversity and quality of expertise within the Consultancy will enable our properties and places to benefit from an extraordinary range of creative and innovative thinking, as well as deep expertise in all matters relating to our twin purpose of caring for the nation’s heritage and landscapes, and making these accessible to all.

What you’ll be doing
In this challenging but rewarding role you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop experiences which engage, move and inspire those who visit our properties. You will build strong collaborative relationships with our property staff to support them in the care and presentation of buildings, interiors and collections. You’ll offer a curatorial eye to our landscape, building and infrastructure projects to ensure that there is historic integrity in all that we do.
