Working collaboratively with the Programming Team, Windermere Jetty Team and partners you will be responsible for managing and caring for Lakeland Arts Maritime and Social History collections.
You will lead on the documentation, care, research and display of the collections, working closely with the Assistant Curator, and Collections Management Assistant. Working with the Programme team you will build on LA’s reputation for exhibiting art and social history of the highest quality and bringing artists with national and international reputations to Cumbria. Windermere Jetty is opened your responsibilities will include public engagement with the collection through a wide range of activities, encouraging and developing access and involvement. You will join Lakeland Arts in the final stages of preparation for opening of Windermere Jetty Museum of Boats, Steam and Stories in Spring 2019. You will work with the Project Delivery Team and consultants to lead and complete delivery ready for opening. You will develop a strong understanding of the Maritime and Social History collections and their significance. You will advise the Conservation Boat Building Team and support delivery of the Conservation Management Plan for the Historic Boat Collection.
