Summary
This role supports the delivery of Trust New Art, the National Trust’s creative programme, which is underpinned by a partnership with Arts Council England. The programme includes arts commissions and partnership projects across the contemporary arts and crafts, ephemeral architecture, new writing and performance based work inspired by National Trust places in the North West. As well as helping to create great experiences for visitors, you will build the appetite within our audiences and the capacity of the Trust to sustain this work.
Responsible for commissioning high quality art for a number of National Trust properties and coordinating between properties to ensure a coherent, interesting and inspiring programme for visitors. You will also be responsible for evaluating impact and ensuring that relevant staff have the skills that they need to be able to deliver arts commissioning in the future.

Who we’re looking for
•Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a contemporary arts related field
•Good working knowledge of contemporary arts practice in UK, including specialism within one of the following areas: fine art, craft, ephemeral architecture, contemporary writing, performance based art
•Ability to identify high quality proposals based on knowledge of good contemporary practice
•Good knowledge of evaluating impact and creating business cases for investment
•Awareness of potential funding sources for future arts programming
