Communications & Marketing Manager

  • Salary: £22,658 – full time (35 hours), fixed term (12 months)
  • Based at People’s History Museum, Manchester

Following Arts Council England investment in the museum’s future through the Museum Resilience Fund, we have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, professional and ambitious Communications & Marketing Manager to join our team and make a real difference to the museum.

The People’s History Museum is the home of ideas worth fighting for.  We are a museum of ideas that are powerful, radical, innovative and world-changing – these ideas are brought to life through our collections, exhibitions and programmes.  At a time of such political and social change, the People’s History Museum has a unique role to play as a leading national museum.  Our ambition is to be a cultural centre for Manchester, the North West and the UK; a space where people debate and discuss the key ideas and issues facing society today.

This project role will play an important part in delivering this vision.  The Communications & Marketing Manager will work with colleagues inside and outside the organisation to increase the profile and reach of the museum with audiences and other stakeholders.

The post forms part of the museum’s Business & Marketing Team, a pro-active and positive team which works across fundraising, individual giving, commercial income, marketing and communications to enable the museum to make its vision real.

We’re looking for talented people with relevant experience who will be able to hit the ground running to deliver change and impact over the coming 12 months.

For enquires relating to the post please contact Janneke Geene, Acting Director on janneke.geene@phm.org.uk or Jenny Mabbott, Head of Collections & Engagement on jenny.mabbott@phm.org.uk or phone the museum on 0161 838 9190.

  • Closing Date: midnight on Sunday 23 April 2017
  • Interview Dates: Tuesday 2 / Wednesday 3 May 2017 (at the museum)
