Communications Coordinator, RAWD (Random Acts of Wildness Disability)

Job Title: Communications Coordinator

About RAWD:
RAWD (Random Acts of Wildness Disability) is dedicated to helping disabled people grow through life and art by:
Inclusive Weekly theatre based sessions
Professional theatre touring
Individual professional development
Training
Accessible social events
Creative access consultancy
Through weekly sessions in Merseyside & Cheshire RAWD have created a community of disabled artists (over 80) who are passionate about producing work in Merseyside and beyond.

Role:
The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for creating content and managing the company’s social media accounts, creating and circulating Mailchimp newsletters, updating the website and ensuring consistent and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Fee:
£120 (for 8 hours per week)
40 week contract (until September 2024)

Duties:

  • Create engaging and relevant content for social media posts, including graphics, photos, and videos following the organisation’s brand guidelines and social media strategy.
  • Monitor social media channels for mentions and feedback, and respond appropriately.
  • Create and circulate regular Mailchimp newsletters to the company’s mailing list and stakeholders.
  • Write and edit content for press releases, marketing materials, blog posts, website and other communication documents.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels.

Person Specification (Skills & Experience):

  • Excellent writing, copywriting and editing skills.
  • Proficiency in Mailchimp, using social media platforms, and content creation tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, is confident and uses initiative.
  • Proficiency in Squarespace (desirable).
  • Understanding of theatre and the arts industry (desirable).
  • Knowledge of disability issues and accessibility (desirable).

Additional Information:

  • The individual will need to travel to RAWD HQ on Tuesdays needed for in office working reporting directly to the Creative Producer and Community Development Manager.
  • The successful applicant must have access to a personal laptop/computer.
  • Training can be provided for using any appropriate Software if needed including Mailchimp, SquareSpace, Canva, Facebook Meta Business, Adobe Suites etc.
  • This is a freelance position, you would be expected to pay your own tax & national insurance.
