Deadline: Monday 21 September 2015. Paid (£30k-40k) Full time
Signal Film and Media is an award-winning film and digital media company with a reputation for both high quality professional short film production and for creating opportunities in film and digital media for individuals and groups of all ages and backgrounds.
We are seeking a full-time Business Manager to join our small, dedicated team of six staff.
The Business Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the organisation and staff, oversee our programme of creative projects and contribute to business strategy and development.
Experience of management within the cultural/arts sector is desirable but not essential – we envisage the right candidate could be someone from a charity, heritage or community sector background. Key to the role is a passion and aptitude for delivering great projects that improve people’s lives.
This senior post offers an exciting chance to help realise the full potential of this unique organisation to deliver fresh new creative activities and learning opportunities. The Business Manager will assume responsibility for the company’s day-to-day running; oversee the programme of creative projects; provide line management and HR support to the staff team and work with the management team on developing new projects as well as ways of funding them. They may also occasionally lead a project, enabling them to maintain a hands-on role within the artistic programme.
Signal Film and Media is based in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, at Cooke’s Studios, a newly refurbished Grade II listed building on the outskirts of the Lake District, one hour from the M6 and two hours north of Manchester.
The company has won several awards for short film production and is a Regional Delivery Partner for the BFI Film Academy and for the Random Acts Centre North. It is an Arts Award Centre and strives to deliver a high quality experience for participants, whatever their ability, age or experience.
