Assistant Community Dancer – Music Makes Us!

The Brain Charity, Merseyside Dance Initiative and CMC Physiotherapy have been working together over the past three years to provide music-based therapy for people living with dementia. Our innovative service couples physiotherapy with dance. We are looking for a freelance dancer to join the team, working in different community centres and care homes across Liverpool to deliver our specifically created dance routines.

Music can play a vital role in the daily care for people living with dementia – it stirs memories, reduces agitation and creates moments of joyful connection. To find out more about the initiative see here: Physiotherapy through Dance – The Brain Charity

Team members are experienced in delivering dance & physio to people living with dementia, and training would be provided. Workshops take place once a week, and you would be expected to commit to 12 week blocks. This position begins in October and the first block of workshops ends mid-December, however we will be running the workshops again in the new year. To find out more about this opportunity and to apply before the 8th October, please email: kym@thebraincharity.org.uk
