YPAS (Young People’s Advisory Service) will be marking their 50th birthday next year. As part of their bicentenary celebrations, Tate Liverpool will be working with YPAS and the wider Liverpool CAMHS (Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services) partnership to host a celebration event/exhibition at Tate Liverpool in early March 2016. The young people involved would like to commission an artist to help them devise, create and realise content for the project.
Proposals are invited from visual /digital artists who have experience of working with young people and can support the group to plan, organise and develop content for a celebration event/exhibition at the gallery. The artist will be required to run 6, 2 hour evening sessions with the group between October 2015 and March 2016 on the following dates: 29 October, 12 November, 26 November, 3 December, 21 January, 28 January, 11 February with further flexible days to assist with set up of event/exhibition during the last week of February and first week of March 2016 and to attend planning and review meetings with Tate Liverpool Learning staff during this period.
Artists should have a current enhanced DBS and ideally have experience of working with young people within a mental health context.
Proposals should be no more than 300 words outlining your own practice and how you would approach working with the group.
They should be submitted to Deborah.Riding@tate.org.uk with a current CV by Friday 2 October 2015.
Selected artists will be invited to present their ideas to the young people involved on Thursday 8 October, 5-7pm at YPAS.
