Patterns of Thought at the Bridewell

‘Patterns of Thought’ paintings by Kate O’Dempsey and Ruth Morrissey.

This delightful, colourful exhibition is on for just one week. The two artists, both Liverpool-based, have not collaborated or exhibited together before.

Ruth is a recent Graduate in Painting whereas Kate is a speech-therapist who has only been painting for a year.  Both have experimented with different media and tools including feathers and toothpicks! The majority are watercolour on paper.

I think the two go well together, both paint without much pre-planning, putting pen or brush to paper and letting the patterns unfold (hence the title). The outcomes are quite different between the two artist though, some very free-flowing, others have more structures.

Most of the works are for sale with 20 percent of sales being donated to the Ebola Orphans, Kenema, Sierra Leone.

Exhibition runs Tuesday – Saturday 1-5 September 2015.
Open 12.00 – 18.00 (12.00 – 20.00 on Thursday)
