Deadline: 5pm, Friday 18 December 2015
With our first commission of 2015 well under way – Mighty Heart, premiering new show ‘What’s The Matter With You?’ here at Waterside from 25th – 27th November 2015 – Waterside Arts Centre & CIT are pleased to announce our second commission opportunity.
With more focus on dedicated mentoring, artistic support, and career development, rather than solely on the development of a new piece of work, we are excited to hear from creatives and companies across the North.
What’s on offer
The successful company or artist will receive:
- A £2,000 commissioning fee to support the production, towards fees for cast, crew, set design, props and script development.
- Work closely with the in-house producer
- Bespoke mentoring
- Dedicated marketing support (press and print)
- Technical support
- Support to tour the piece
- Support with further funding applications
- Rehearsal space and time
- A programmed run at Waterside Arts Centre, Sale, Greater Manchester
What we are looking for
As with our last commissions, we do not have a prescribed criteria in terms of style, substance, or form. However, we are particularly interested in supporting work that may not be regularly seen in Greater Manchester, that explores visual storytelling and is risk-taking and innovative in its nature.
Although not exclusive to artists and companies based in the North, we are keen to support creatives who have local and regional links.
Your proposed piece must be able to be performed in our Chambers studio space and it can be no longer than one hour in length. The commission will be performed at Waterside in the first week of June 2016.
