Open Art Fair: Art in the Park
Coronation Gardens, West Kirby

Art in the Park is a free to the public open air art fair which takes place monthly from May to September.

Run on behalf of the Friends of Coronation Gardens, it gives artists a venue and opportunity to sell their work with the stallholder fee going towards the upkeep of the gardens. Artists rent alcoves in the perimeter wall of the gardens from which they sell their art and taught wires are strung across the rear of the alcoves from which to hang pieces of art.
This is a relaxed, friendly and quirky art event and no booking is required. Simply take a look at the weather forecast, occupy an available unreserved alcove, set your stall and hopefully sell. Payment of the fee is taken on the day. There are 21 alcoves, 9 of them deep with the remaining shallow and artists are free to erect a gazebo so long as it is done safely.
If you are interested in becoming a stallholder, please see the exhibitors information page for more details

Art in the Park was created in 2008 by Brian Larsen as an avenue for artists to affordably showcase and sell their art and at the same time raise funds for the upkeep of the gardens and the friends and artists would like to thank Brian for his efforts. That baton has now passed from Brian to George Evans, who is a regular attendee of the art fairs and George hopes that his enthusiasm for the monthly Summer fairs will rub off drawing in more artists and buyers of art.

With better signage, a new Facebook page and publicity through social media and artists websites George’s aim is to fill all of the gardens 21 alcoves on a regular basis and sell from gazebos if demand increases.  A flyer is published and distributed in libraries, church halls and shops around Wirral each year with the dates of the Art in the Park fairs. Of course the success of the art fairs is dependent upon the British Summer so I’ll finish with those words ….. weather permitting.
