The National Indian Arts Awards return for the 4th year to honour and celebrate the great contribution of the professionals who have devoted themselves to promoting, nurturing and developing Indian arts across the UK and beyond, as well as the rising stars of the Indian music and dance who are shaping these art-forms for future generations. The Awards are supported by the Arts Council England.
This year’s ceremony will be taking place in London’s prestigious Southbank Centre on Thursday 14th June and will be presided over by Sir Nicholas Serota, CH,. the Chairman of Arts Council England, along with many distinguished guests, including Baron Gadhia.
Following the ceremony, this years recipient of the Vishwa Kala Ratna (International Artist of the Year) Award, the Veena maestro, Dr Jayanthi Kumaresh, will be taking to the stage for a very special celebratory concert. The world renowned veena artiste will be joined on stage by percussion masters KU Jayachandra Rao on mridangam and Kousic Sen on tabla. This stunning musical collaboration will be the perfect way to round off an evening celebrating the very best in Indian classical music.
The NIAA’s were established to recognise the work of countless individuals, schools, teachers, performers, and art organisations, up and down the British Isles, who are working tirelessly  to provide generous opportunities to learn or experience Indian arts. The NIAA’s have been working tirelessly for the past 4 years to ensure that such dedicated work in the arts is acknowledged on par with the contribution of those in business, finance, medicine, and other professional categories.
Nominations are now open for a range of honours, to be awarded at this year’s glittering ceremony. Whether you are a teacher or performer of Indian music or dance, or a young artist at the start of a promising career, there a number of awards open to recognise excellence in these fields. The establishment of these Awards has created a better understanding of how such selfless work empowers and enriches the younger generation, and how it helps build bridges between communities and people, as well as acknowledging those who continue to bring Indian arts to new and diverse audiences. These Awards significantly contribute towards providing more focus on the contribution of the Arts professionals working in the field of Indian Arts and provide opportunities for their work to expand in the years ahead.

We invite nominations from teachers and artistes in the following categories:
- A Life Time Achievement Award in Arts & Education
- A Distinguished Teachers Award in Music ~ Acharya Sangeet Ratna
- A Distinguished Teachers Award in Dance ~ Acharya Nritya Ratna
- Young Musician of the Year Awards ~ Yuva Sangeet Ratna
- Young Dancer of the Year ~ Yuva Nritya Ratna
Nomination Deadline
- Completed submissions must be received electronically by 9am on Monday 30th April 2018.
- Applications will be assessed by a nationally selected jury panel.
- Final results will be announced on 1st June.​
