Deadline: Thursday 12 February at 5pm.
Sweet ‘Art are currently seeking artists to exhibit work as part of their next show in aid of International Women’s Day in March 2016!
We have a tradition now of hosting fun and thought provoking exhibitions each year to celebrate IWD and 2016 will be no exception. We are seeking artists identifying as any gender whose works are of any media including painting, illustration, sculpture, installation, film and performance. All works must explore the theme of femininity, feminine identity and women’s day. This can be an exploration of the female form, gender identity, feminist issues, social and political issues and constructs or personal accounts and perspectives. Works can celebrate, critique, challenge, ridicule and reflect notions of femininity in our society and internationally.
Selected artists will be given the opportunity to exhibit in the spacious and beautifully finished Hoxton Arches Gallery, located in the heart of London’s art scene just off bustling Shoredich High St.
The show will be installed by experienced curators, and all invitations, press releases, promotion and opening reception/private view will be organized to the highest spec. Along with the usual Sweet ‘Art freebies and surprises! This is sure to include one of our awesome arty parties with events and workshops running through out the show duration.
There is no fee to submit your work and those whose work is accepted will be asked to pay an exhibition fee of either £40, £65 or £80, dependant on the size and amount of works selected by the Sweet ‘Art panel. You can read more about our fees and selection process on our website.
Works will need to be available and dropped off at the gallery on the Saturday the 5th of March between 9am-11am. The opening party will be on the evening of the 5th March from 8pm till late and the show will run from the 5th to the 9th of March.
