Independents Biennial 2018 – St Helens Commission
Independents Biennial 2018 is back with a festival that celebrates visual contemporary art across the entire Liverpool City Region. Working with galleries and studios around the Liverpool City Region to create a festival that is open to new and diverse audiences.
Practitioners from all areas of visual art can apply, but it is preferred that applicants have a connection to St Helens (past or present, personal or professional) and we encourage applications from artists from diverse backgrounds with unique perspectives. We are particularly interested in work by collaborative artists, or those that locate themselves within the field of contemporary social arts practice.
The commission is for £1000
You may apply as a group, individual artists, or organisations.
To apply send:
- 500 words outlining your proposed activity
- A brief history of your practice (2-300 words)
- Artists CV
- Up to 5 images of your work (as .jpeg files each below 1MB)
Send applications to independents@artinliverpool.com by 9am on the 15th May 2018. Applications sent after this time will not be considered for commissions, but may still be considered for the open programme (details here).
