Homotopia seeking new Volunteer Board members

Deadline: Thursday 5 May 2016.

Do you have a passion for the arts and cultural diversity ?
Would you like to contribute to the cultural life of Liverpool ?
Do you believe that creativity can enrich the life of individuals and communities?
Would you like to join a Board and make a difference?

Homotopia draws on the LGBT experience to unite and regenerate communities through the production, promotion, and commissioning of great art for everyone.

Homotopia was launched in 2004 as an unincorporated association with a small grant from Liverpool City Council. The first pilot Homotopia festival featured 16 events in 5 venues in Liverpool and was enjoyed by an audience of 2,500 people.

Over the following 12 years Homotopia has incorporated as a limited company and achieved significant growth and development both at home and internationally.

Homotopia is regularly funded by Liverpool City Council and since 2012 regularly funded by Arts Council England as one of its National Portfolio Organisations, firmly established as the country’s leading LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) arts and cultural festival.

Every November we produce a critically acclaimed international festival of combined arts. An inspiring, innovative and exciting programme of theatre, live art, dance, film, heritage and education takes place across Merseyside in venues such as The Philharmonic, FACT, Bluecoat, Museum of Liverpool, Walker Art Gallery, Unity Theatre & Everyman Playhouse.

We also produce art based education, engagement & participatory initiatives with our lead sponsor Liverpool John Moores University and an award winning social justice programme which has been developed in partnership with Merseyside Police since 2007.

This is a chance for enthusiastic people to play a strategic role in the future of an award winning, young, dynamic and innovative organisation.

We are looking for individuals who will volunteer their ideas, experience, skills and energy as a member of our Board.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds and sectors.
