Granby Winter Garden Commission, CALL FOR ARTISTS

Granby Winter Garden Commission
CALL FOR ARTISTS

Granby Winter Garden will be a new community-owned space in the heart of the Granby neighbourhood in Liverpool 8. Two Victorian terraced houses will be transformed into a beautiful indoor garden and a unique resource for creative community action, cultural production and exchange.

Granby Four Streets Community Land Trust, in partnership with Bluecoat, seeks an artist to develop a horticultural work or series of works for Granby Winter Garden, in collaboration with the design team, Assemble, and local people. As well as devising a planting scheme, there is scope for the commissioned artist to propose interventions into the Winter Garden space, and within the local neighbourhood, or to propose events, performances or workshops that accompany the making of the garden.

Applications from artists who actively engage with communities or publics within their practice, and who can demonstrate an interest in planting or growing within their work are particularly welcomed. Artists working in any media, and at any stage in their career (except those currently studying) are invited to apply.

The project will take place between May and October 2017 to include research and development, delivery and evaluation.

An Artist’s Fee of £4500 and a production budget of £4000 is offered. Flexible studio and production facilities are available.

Please download the Artists’ Brief and further information here: http://www.granby4streetsclt.co.uk/granby-winter-garden

Interviews : 16th May 2017
