Creative England & Microsoft funding for game developers (England)
Creative England has, has once again, partnered with Microsoft to develop Greenshoots, a programme of financial and business support intended to games companies and SMEs industry in the English regions, outside of Greater London, who are creating exciting, innovative games and can demonstrate high growth potential. Through the programme investments of £50,000 – £200,000 are available.
In addition to the financial support, successful applicants will also receive support, mentorship and expertise from Microsoft and industry partners. Funding will be awarded for the development and commercial release of new game IP for any platforms, although this must include a dedicated release on Windows 10 on PC and/or Xbox One. To be eligible for funding, applicants need to be based in England; outside of the Greater London area). Investments will be made on a commercial basis under a revenue share scheme. All investments require a minimum £1 for £1 match. Upon commercial release, Creative England will receive a share of all Gross Revenue generated by the game developed using Greenshoots funding.
