Artist Brief: The film can be made about any topic and in any style. This can be an abstract fine art piece, documentary, storytelling, etc. It does not have to be related to your mental health, though you are welcome to address these experiences. It is open to artists at any stage in their career. The three films will be shown during an exhibition and at two events which are currently scheduled at HOME Manchester and Bolton Library and Museum Services. These locations could potentially change due to the impact of Covid-19.
Requirements: To be considered you must identify as having lived experience of mental illness or substance misuse. Films must be a minimum of 10 minutes long (unless it is a stop motion animation film) and be a new commission, not an existing film.
Budget: There is a budget of £300. You can claim this as a wage if you are self-employed or we can buy you some materials or equipment for those who are not self-employed.
Must live in Greater Manchester.
