Derbyshire Open Art Competition 2017
The Derbyshire Open is an annual competition, now in its 35th year, and is open to both amateur and professional artists.
Competition entrants are asked to capture an image of what Derbyshire means to the artist. The subject could be a landscape, a view of the artist’s home town, local people, representations of local legends or still life. Entrants can use most mediums, including oils, acrylics, watercolours, drawing, print, collage, manipulated digital imagery or three-dimensional work.
The entry form is attached to this page.
Artists can submit up to two works which must be handed in between 10am and 4.30pm on Friday 9 June or Saturday 10 June 2017, to the Museum and Art Gallery on Terrace Road in Buxton.
An independent panel of four judges will select the winners on Monday 12 June 2017. Prizes are on offer – including a £750 first prize – along with the opportunity to display work at our Museum and Art Gallery in Buxton. Prizes will be announced at the preview evening and awards ceremony on Friday 23 June 2017.
