Callout for brand refresh: LightNight Liverpool

The eighth edition of LightNight Liverpool, the city’s late-night arts and culture festival, will take place on Friday 19 May 2017. Ahead of this date, we are looking for an agency / freelancer to undertake a refresh of the festival brand and website. LightNight has a strong existing brand and identity; the purpose of this refresh is to maintain the festival’s strong look and feel while encompassing the scope of the festival’s growth in recent years.

The deadline for applications is midnight on Monday 16 January. The full design brief and application information can be found here

LightNight has a strong existing brand and identity; the purpose of this refresh is to maintain the festival’s strong look and feel while encompassing the scope of the festival’s growth in recent years, to try something new, and to reach an even broader audience – especially those with little or no existing interest in the festival / arts and culture in the city.

Your brand identity concept should be:

  • Vibrant
  • Simple
  • Clean
  • Stylish
  • Accessible / inclusive
  • User friendly
  • Include a logo featuring the text ‘LightNight Liverpool’
  • Space for a short festival strapline

Please consider that historically, the festival brand has not been photography-led; this is due to the wide scope of activities and events.

  • Members of the public of all ages – particularly those with limited or no engagement with arts and culture
  • Venue operators
  • Event organisers
  • Artists
  • Arts organisations

  • Website – see detailed website requirements below.

*Where possible Open Culture will source sample prints on various stocks ahead of printing, and our preference is to use sustainable paper stock and to source print services locally*

WEBSITE

Alongside a brand identity and logo refresh, we are also looking to redevelop the LightNight website.

  • WordPress-based with straightforward back-end functionality – information will be uploaded by Open Culture
  • Easy to navigate for the public – the website will host information for all LightNight events

The website requires the following essential elements:

  • Search function

A rundown of web pages and any additional functionality that may be required will be provided at a later date.
