Calling all emerging artists, designers, musicians & performers!, Slade Hall

We are now accepting diverse proposals for our unique pop-up arts festival ‘Slade Hall: Retrospective’.

We are excited to host an intimate arts experience at one of Manchester’s most overlooked cultural and historical landmarks. This event will be a wholehearted celebration of Slade Hall in Longsight, a residential site that has stood for over 1000 years.

This intimate arts festival will be a diverse programme of contemporary art, live painting, photography, film, sculpture, philosophy, performance, spoken word, print, design and music together in one space. We are open to all submissions and will try to accommodate as many artists as possible.

We would like to hear proposals that explore social memory and shared experience through culturally significant landmarks. Calling for submissions from any artistic background, including musicians and theatre groups, to be shown on Saturday 1 July 2017 at Slade Hall, Longsight, Manchester. We are also keen to hear from writers and academics responding to the call either in written form or through a performative lecture.

We are keen to provide a platform for emerging Manchester based artists but are willing to consider applications of work from anywhere in the UK. Please be aware, we are not a funded body, just a bunch of hippies looking to put on an art show. As such we cannot provide expenses and you will need to be responsible for your own transportation and accommodation.

If interested in hearing more please email sladehallretrospective@gmail.com for an application form and small pdf containing photographs of the site.
