Call for Light and Digital artists, Green Man, 17-20th Aug 2017
Deadline Monday 27 March 2017
Visual artists working with light and/or digital media are invited to apply to install work at Green Man, 17-20 August 2017.
Artist commissioning and/or exhibition fee of up to £1,500 per artist, plus access to a materials budget.
Green Man is seeking visually engaging art-works that will make a marked impact on the festival site and audience by changing the perception of the space or adding a new visual experience. Artists are encouraged to present well-considered proposals for ambitious works with strong content and high production values. The festival is especially interested, but not exclusively, in working with early career artists
All works must function round the clock, especially at night, in all weathers and be fabricated to be safe for audiences and to withstand the test of the elements for up to a week. Green Man is offering guidance from its Visual Arts producer in developing the work for the outdoor, social context of the festival and technical installation support.
Art works will be installed within the Ê»set’ of the festival, which has a distinct brand identity through its stages, facades and signage, and nestles in the remains of an historic 1800’s estate with walled gardens and gate house. In 2016 the programme included international visual artist Nathaniel Rackowe and upcoming media collective Flow Conceptions amongst others.
