Sculptorvox Vol 2: Blood and Wire
Closing date – Monday 26th March 2018
This 8 volume series goes beyond seeing sculpture as ‘object’ and delves into the world, work, inspiration, processes, influences, ideas, journeys and careers of artists, writers, photographers who all work directly or indirectly with notions of three dimensions. From interviews and articles, to original writing, thinking and photography that goes some way to show the breadth and depth of practice in contemporary studios.
We are seeking new writing, essays, creative interpretation, reviews, interviews and photographic work that explores and responds to the title and theme of ‘Blood & Wire’.
Blood & Wire will be an investigation into our drives, desires and human endeavours.
We are calling for submissions that express some essence of the human condition: the essential aspects of existence from birth, emotional and social connection, aspiration, morality, to death and mortality.
We want both written and photographic contributions that broadly and creatively interpret this theme. Subjects could include, but are not limited to, social relevance and belonging, human relationships, disconnection, loneliness, hardship, loss, grief, war, meaning-of-life, survival, religion, technological impact…
These could also be approached through the following arenas:
Relational aesthetics
Socially engaged practice
Interaction
Audience participation
Performative work
Figuration
Please read the guidelines below prior to submission and send all contributions to editor@sculptorvox.com
