Board Member, Open Eye Gallery

Deadline: Friday 4 December 2015. Unpaid (trustee) Part time

The North West’s leading photography organisation and charity, Open Eye Gallery, is now recruiting for new Board members to maintain its excellent reputation and support its dynamic plans for the future.

One of the first dedicated photography galleries in the UK, (launching in 1977), Open Eye has a track record of showcasing some of the best photography in the world – from work that has inspired gallery and broadsheet audiences for decades, like the UK’s Martin Parr or Simon Norfolk, to the current exhibition featuring the more recently acclaimed South African visual activist, Zanele Muholi.

With a new leadership team of significant standing in the arts sector, core- funding support from both Arts Council England and Liverpool City Council, and new purpose-designed gallery spaces on Liverpool’s Waterfront, Open Eye Gallery is looking forward to celebrating it’s 40th birthday in 2017.

We welcome applications from all prospective Board members, and we are particularly keen on extending our expertise and skills base from professionals from the finance, fund raising and academic sectors.
