Deadline: Friday 22 January 2016. Paid.
Kirklees in West Yorkshire is delighted to create this opportunity for an Artist(s) to help realise a major strand of work that seeks to explore the value of arts and culture as a way to engage people in the future of places. The residency will work across Kirklees to explore peoples’ relationship to places through a process of imaginative creative exploration, conversation and exchange.
Kirklees is seeking a highly imaginative Artist(s) who can bring their own creative approach that reflects both their own interests and those of the community. Artist(s) will be working with residents, business, planners, regeneration teams and partner organisations to support and develop participatory models of commissioning that build relationships and foster a meaningful creative process.
The residency is expected to take place between February and March 2016. Depending on the nature of the work, we expect the residency to last between 4 – 6 weeks. The appointed Artist(s) will make an initial visit to Huddersfield early in this period to meet with the project team and identify opportunities for participating in different aspects of the project.
