We’re excited to announce that applications are now OPEN for the PLACED Environmental Academy,a free to access, creative programme that aims to inspire the next generation of place makers and climate campaigners from across the Liverpool City Region.
We’re now recruiting 30 young people from a wide range of backgrounds who are:
- Currently in Year 10, 11 or 12
- Live in Liverpool, St Helens, Wirral, Halton, Sefton or Knowsley
- Interested in design, the built environment and the future of places
- Passionate about the environment and addressing climate change
- Want to learn about and campaign for the design of better, more sustainable places.
This exciting programme is made possible thanks to our primary funder, the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and Metro Mayor, and our amazing sponsors. It includes:
- Face to face and online events, workshops and professional development activities
- Individual and group design challenges and a youth led engagement campaign
- Working alongside professionals including architects, planners, urban designers, students and community leaders, providing a unique insight into careers
- Tailored activities, drawing on individual interests, talents and aspirations to respond to the themes of sustainability, community activism and the built environment
- Requires no particular skills, experience or knowledge – just an enthusiasm to get involved and take part
- Runs June until November.
