ANTISTEEL
hosting and developing Merseyside’s next gen
ANTISTEEL is a pop up gallery in Liverpool for local creatives aged 16-25, aiming to curate a space to host and develop the next generation of local talent.
Founded in 2019 by Carla Owens and Maeve Thompson, frustrated by how Liverpool’s local art scene has had a tendency to be inaccessible for those aged 16-25. With operations and exhibitions being overwhelmingly behind closed doors and exclusive to post-grads. Antisteel recognises the amount of young talent in Liverpool, aims to connect and promote young creatives within our community.
Submissions are open to Liverpool residents aged 16-25, ANTISTEEL will host any art form that we have the capacity to do (film, music, sculpture, fashion, fine art, etc…)
Submissions must be sent to livantisteel@gmail.com by December 12th 2019.
This email should include photos of the artists work and any relevant information about themselves or the piece.
ANTISTEEL’s first independent exhibition will run on the evening of January 9th 2020 (6-11pm), at Make. North Docks. It is intended to be a night of celebration with music, an open bar and (of course) plenty of art!
