Unlock the Box embarks on its largest project to date bringing young people from four centres across Mersesyside together to take part in Brouhaha Carnival on Saturday 7th July. Working with young people in Livepool and Kirkby we will create and present a unique dance performance inspired by Brazilian and Caribbean dance.
Paul Doyle, Unlock The Bow Co-ordinator says:
“Following the success of our last round we are delighted to be back and bigger than ever. This will be the first time Unlock the Box activity takes place in Knowsley and we are looking forward to working with the young people there. Brouhaha is always a great day and we hope that as many young people as possible take part with us on the day”
Serena Coggins, parent of regular a attendee says;
“My daughter has gained more confidence each day, and has really liked meeting new friends. I asked her what she likes most and her reply was “meeting new people and learning things about different cultures. I would highly recommend Unlock the Box to any parent for their child, it boosts confidence and is a great way of keeping active.”
Participants will also take part in a unique celebration of world dance as part of Movema’s Big Union on Saturday 23rd June at The Black E, Great George Street, Liverpool where they will be treated to workshops, performances and food from around the world.
