The hospital arts team at Aintree have secured paintings from one of China’s leading artists for their next exhibition.
The work of award winning international artist Xinguang Jia will feature as part of the Go East exhibition from 8 September at Aintree University Hospital.
Xinguang Jia is internationally recognised as one of China’s leading artists, and has exhibited in Paris’ world-famous Louvre. The inclusion of his watercolours is the biggest success yet for the hospital arts team, Promoting Art in Aintree (PARTIA).
Paula O’Malley, Arts Manager at Aintree said: “We’re delighted that Xinguang is exhibiting at our ‘Go East’ exhibition, as he could have chosen any art gallery in the world. We’re extremely excited and his work will sit alongside that of local Merseyside artists.”
Xinguang Jia’s son, Boxiao Jia, will officially open the exhibition. Studying in Liverpool for a Masters in Art, Aesthetics and Cultural Institutions, he volunteered with PARTIA and was so impressed with the benefits which artworks were bringing to patients and staff at the hospital that he encouraged his father to support the latest exhibition.
