Hot on the heels of winning a National Arts & Business Award, and recently shortlisted for a Warrington Business Award, The Gallery At Bank Quay House is delighted to present a creative arts festival with a difference.
Launching on Saturday 20 July and continuing to 3 August, this free event will take place at all four Python Galleries spanning the North of England and offers new creative opportunities for artists and residents alike. Organised by the curatorial team at Python, the Festival is open to everyone and will include artist talks, creative workshops and poetry evenings, plus the first Python Open art exhibition featuring over 150 artists.
Head Curator Emma Kelly says: ‘Our galleries offer opportunities for artists to showcase their work in relaxing and approachable spaces. Whether you’re a practicing artist, hoping to try out a potential new hobby or need some creative inspiration for the summer holidays, Python Festival has plenty to offer.’
The gallery welcomes readers to come along to the opening to see the talented artworks from artists from Warrington and the wider region. On show at Bank Quay House will be over 50 artworks including sculpture, painting, illustration and photography. A winner of the exhibition will be announced at 15.00.
Artist Kate Bufton says: ‘I am thrilled to be exhibiting in the festival as there is so much talent in the area this will be a great chance to see it all come together.’ Appleton artist Debbie Budenberg agrees adding ‘the gallery is a fantastic welcoming space for bringing artists together and this exhibition shows how strong Warrington’s art scene has become’.
Python Properties, the festival organiser, is a commercial property business with a unique style of merging the art-space with the workplace. Each gallery is situated on the ground floor of an office building, introducing visitors to a range of creative mediums whilst allowing local artists to showcase their work.
Martin Johnson, partner at Python Properties said: ‘Now with national recognition, thanks to the Arts & Business award, we want to step up our commitment to the community even more and the Python Festival is a celebration of our passion for creativity and a way of ensuring that everyone can get involved and experience the arts’
The galleries are Free to enter and will be open Monday to Saturday for the duration of the Festival. For more information on visiting and how you can get involved please visit www.pythonartsfestival.com
