So I’ve been wondering why the hits to this blog have increased even more than usual this week when I bump into Peter Chan and he says
“I see artinliverpool was no.3 in The Times list of the top Art Blogs”
and I said
“WHAT?!”
Why didn’t someone (like the newspaper) tell me?
Then it takes me about an hour to find the relevant bit on the web, so here it is….

Top five websites

This week: Art Blogs

1 ARTFORUM.COM DIARY
The online diary of the esteemed magazine has lengthy posts covering the hippest happenings in the art world. Beautiful design with writing that is gossip-packed and undeniably stylish. www.artforum.com/diary

2 ARTBYUS.COM ART BLOG
A very news-driven blog. The stories span the globe and cover matters such as Australia’s booming art market and the need for the right frame. Being the blog of an online auction market, it also informs artists about competitions and fairs. www.artbyus.com/blogs

3 ART IN LIVERPOOL
The best British art blog may be city specific, but it makes you wish that similar attention was paid to our other metropolitan scenes. With regular updates, the editor, Ian Jackson, strikes a pleasantly chatty and informative tone. www.artinliverpool.com/blog

4 ABSOLUTE ARTS
Posts from a roster of artists and collectors on an array of subjects including Michael Corbin’s “Paintings That Make Me Hurl

  1. Thank you Adrian and nice to see a proper comment in amongst the masses of spams.
No , I need to install proper web stats, I only get minimal info at present.

  2. Of course the problem with referrers is that you get a lot of spam for them too, but it’s interesting to see where people have come from, or what they typed into google to find you.

Gordon McLean mentioned a couple of new stats gatherers recently which might be worth a look… I’m still using some hacked together stuff I wrote myself, so haven’t tried them yet.

  3. Hi Ian, Great news! All the free wine and partying has paid off!! [just kidding]

Try statcounter.com, I use them, there is a link on my site to them [the statcounter]they’re free and give fairly indepth details…but only for the previous 100 hits, unless you pay.

I have a guest book too, so a comment would be nice seeing as I have none so far!

    Cheers

    Craig
