Cultivate and Celebrate – Treasures of the Kitchen Garden. Visit the Mansion and Kitchen Gardens during October half term to enjoy a series of works in development by Tatton’s latest Artist in Residence.
Ever wondered why a tulip is considered more beautiful than a bean flower; a rose bush more pleasing than a potato plant in full bloom? These, and many other questions about our perceptions of ‘natural beauty’ and the value we place on the food we grow and consume, will be explored by Christine over the coming months.
The works on display include preliminary sketches, paintings, photographs and mixed media installations. These can be found in the stunning settings of the Mansion, along with her growing artworks in the Kitchen Gardens.
Join Christine on Friday 30th October in the Gardens for a drop-in event to ‘grow your own smile’.
This is the ’Starter’, the ‘Main Course’ follows in Spring 2010.
