This exhibition offers a fascinating view of how the Sikh community has been depicted in print
From the mid 19th to the mid 20th century. It comprises a unique collection of material sourced from the Twin Studio Sikh Print Archive, which covers a range of printed formats from newspapers, book engravings and magazine illustrations to postcards, photographs, posters and memorabilia.
The Singh Twins, Amrit and Rabindra, are internationally acclaimed contemporary British artists. Their award-winning paintings explore universal issues of social, political, religious and multicultural debate through a narrative, decorative, symbolic and witty ‘Past Modern’ style. Their work combines Indian miniature with aspects of traditional global aesthetics.
