As expected there was a large crowd on Liverpool’s waterfront today to welcome Cunard’s Queen Mary 2, the largest cruise liner ever to enter the Mersey.
I was pleased we got there well before the rain started but it was cold and windy. Many of the 2,500 passengers were disembarking to walk around the Albert dock and the city centre, many went on coach tours.
It was a very impressive sight and a pleasant atmosphere. We saw a few school parties too with teachers struggling to make themselves heard as they attempted to get across the importance and history of Cunard.
