Norton Priory – ‘Land’

Land’ by Wendy Williams and Ian Percival
17 February – 12 April 2009

Two artists explore forces of nature through their work.

Painter Wendy Williams, uses climate change and its effects on the environment, as subject matter. The mixed media paintings and drawings are executed in a split screen effect, simulating news items. The  theme of storms dominate the work.
Ian Percival developed a keen interest in the landscape, while walking in the mountains of Snowdonia from around the age of 13 or 14. Over the last 20 years this interest has developed almost into an obsession, and has seen him photographing landscapes all over the country.  His photographs capture the beauty and essence of the British countryside.
