Light up an Angel Campaign Launched at Liverpool Cathedral

bauble5Choristers have placed the first glass angels on one of Liverpool Cathedral’s Christmas trees as part of their first ever Light up an Angel campaign.

Members of the public can now have a name or message engraved onto a glass angel decoration, which will be placed on a lighted tree in the Cathedral throughout the Christmas period. They will receive a certificate and can take their angel home to keep in the New Year.

In return they are asked to give a gift of £30 to the Cathedral Foundation, which funds choral music at Christmas and throughout the year, helps keep the Cathedral free to visitors and goes towards the upkeep of the building.

Engravings on the angels have so far included family names, a message from across the miles or people have simply used their angel to wish someone Merry Christmas.

Cathedral Fundraiser Tina Morris said: “We hope to fill our tree with hundreds of angels that will twinkle from now until the end of the Christmas period. We hope that they will make the experience of visiting our cathedral at Christmas even more special and allow people to show their personal connection to Liverpool and the cathedral at this special time of year. In lighting up an angel you are also helping us to keep our cathedral free to visitors and to fund our choral music which is at its best at Christmas.”

To light up your angel visit the Cathedral 10am-4pm Monday-Friday and look for the tree or contact Tina Morris on 0151 702 7226
