Another well deserved honour.

Lewis Biggs Awarded OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours

Lewis Biggs, Chief Executive and Artistic Director, Liverpool Biennial has been awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for his service to the arts in the North West. Liverpool Biennial is delighted that Lewis’ contribution has been recognised in this way.

Lewis commented, “I’m delighted to accept this honour as a form of recognition for the amazing work of all the artists I’ve known and all the colleagues I’ve had in Liverpool and the Northwest over the last 24 years. Liverpool has the best visual arts offer of any city in the UK after London; and I believe that Liverpool’s cultural organisations have very deep roots in the city – going back 150 years – which means that they have the creativity and resilience to sustain them through the very difficult future they now face.”

  1. Darn Right – somehow the popular press missed this story – but for consistently surprising and delighting the art-lovers on Merseyside and turning our city into a ‘destination’ for the Londoncentric once every 2 years, he fully deserves it – nice one Lewis!
