Friends of Kirkby Gallery & Prescot Museum now open to schools

Kirkby Gallery & Prescot Museum already have an established ‘Friends of’
membership for individuals and families. We are now offering membership up
to our local Schools and Colleges.

The aim is to give schools and colleges with an interest in the arts and learning outside the
classroom the opportunity to support the activities in Kirkby Gallery and Prescot Museum,
along with the purchase of new works and community engagement activities of the Gallery
and Museum. The benefits of being a member, include:

  • 1 x ‘Behind the scenes’ visit to Prescot Museum
  • 1 x Large exhibition poster or print
  • 1 x Art loan for 6 months (subject to availability)
  • Priority bookings for class / group visits to Kirkby Gallery
  • Priority entry into the Open Art exhibition (we will frame up to 5 artworks)
  • Class goody bags for each visit to either Kirkby Gallery or Museum (subject to availability)

Kirkby Gallery is one of the best contemporary art galleries in the North West of England. The gallery stages 3 – 4 major exhibitions per year, all of which are supported by a robust educational offer for young people, families and adults. The exhibition programme is as broad as it is interesting, guaranteeing a creative escape for everyone.

Prescot Museum is located within The Prescot Centre building in Prescot’s Indoor Shopping Centre. It focuses on the local history of the area including the important clock and watch making industry.

The AIM of the ‘Friends of the Kirkby Gallery & Prescot Museum’ is to give those with an interest in the arts, the opportunity to support the activities in the Gallery and the purchase of new works and the further development of the Gallery and Prescot Museum whilst enjoying the benefits of its service, which include:

  • Experience a variety of events: behind the scenes tours, talks, socials and exhibition field / research trips
  • Discounts on purchases from Kirkby Gallery and Prescot Museum

Annual membership fee rates:

  • £100 (Primary & Secondary Schools)
  • £200 (Colleges of Further Education)
  • £400 (Higher Education establishments)

For individuals:

  • Annual Single Subscription £15.00
  • Family (2 adults + up to 2 children) £20.00
  • OAP / Student £8.00
  • Joint OAP £14.00
