ReCreation Studio RED AT ENIGMA
7 July – 19 July 2008
The theme of the exhibition is RED. A wide range of inspired artwork will be on view
and for sale focusing on the use of recycled materials.
ReCreation Studio is an eclectic group of artists/designers established in 2006 that meet together weekly at either the
Green Community Shop in Oxton Village or each other’s studios, to enjoy experimenting with creative ideas.
Some work has a specific objective: fabric samples are designed and sent to Paris and Japan for exhibition at Textile and
Fashion Shows. Artifacts are made for local events such as Oxton Secret Gardens and the Williamson Art Gallery. Members
of the group exhibit independently, nationally and internationally in diverse contexts.
Other work is just done for the sheer joy of experimenting with materials using a variety of media: painting, working
with wire, mosaic, sculpture, dyeing, felting, embellishing and hand/machine embroidery.
Recycling materials, manipulating fabric and sharing inspiration is at the heart of the ReCreation Studio.
