Paul Hamlyn Foundation | Community newspaper published for Liverpool Biennial.
This is one of those great projects the Biennial does without really shouting about it. Hope we’ll hear more as it develops, the newspaper is only a part of the overall project.
A community newspaper for young people in the Anfield and Breckfield areas of Liverpool has been published. The newspaper details the events that will be taking place as part of ‘On the Street’, a project that works with young people aged 11-17, exploring issues surrounding the regeneration of their areas.
‘On the Street’ will involve young people in a series of art and architecture projects, to help them to think about successful neighbourhoods and how they can contribute to the urban environment. At its heart will be the participants’ development of innovative ideas for uses of some of the vacant buildings and spaces in their area. While developing these ideas, they will also be supported to undertake the practical work required to deliver proposals and consultations on their projects, enabling them to build their skills and experience.
