Family Matters: Swan Song
Warrington town centre is soon to be the home of a new creative space. The Gallery At Bank Quay House will open its doors to the public on 16th June 2010, for an eye-opening display of the artistic talent this region has to offer.
For the inaugural exhibition, the gallery is pleased to welcome North West artist Catherine Kleeli and her Family Matters: Swan Song exhibition of paintings and original prints. The artworks are an open and sensitive consideration of her mother’s journey into dementia.
Using metaphor, Kleeli attempts to convey the lost identity, reduced verbal communication, increased dependency and lack of mental capacity that is experienced by dementia sufferers and to express the gradual process of loss which begins for loved ones way before the final parting.
The Gallery At Bank Quay House curator Emma Kelly says ‘I am delighted to have Catherine Kleeli work for the inaugural exhibition. The excellent quality of Kleeli’s work sets the standard of the gallery and gives an insight of what can be expected from the gallery in the future.’
Located on Sankey Street, opposite the Golden Gates, The Gallery At Bank Quay House is in a prime location for shoppers to stop in and check out the new creative venture whilst enjoying a drink in the gallery’s coffee shop.
The Gallery was launched by Python Properties as a luxury event space facility for tenants of Bank Quay House. Python Properties offers smart and stylish office space at Bank Quay House with a professional, first class service from their own on-site staff.
Emma welcomes you to attend the grand opening on the 16th ‘The opening night is set to be a fantastic evening and I welcome the community to attend and be inspired by the artwork. The gallery is a very approachable space so please ask any questions on how you can get involved in its development.’
Opening Night: Wednesday 16th June 6-8pm
Open Mon-Fri (9-5pm) entrance to the gallery is fully accessible and free for all. Exhibition continues till 5th July 2010.
