The Kids are Alright ! The Sound of Young Liverpool !

Sound City and The Picket Liverpool are pleased to announce the final of Youth Live this Saturday 2nd April at 7pm. Since December 2010 we have been holding live heats to find our final 5 bands for this year. It has been fantastic to hear and meet with young talented bands from across the Merseyside area.

Tickets for the Final are FREE but please obtain tickets in advance from the bands competing or contact us email at
Youthlive@liverpoolsoundcity.co.uk to reserve them at the door.
The finalists are:
Liverpool 4 piece Freq inhabit the darker side of the Mersey sound, so forget the jangle of guitar. Together they create an altogether more atmospheric take on their city’s heritage. Gigging regularly they have built up a dedicated following amongst Liverpool’s musical hierarchy and we are sure they will convert many more people to the Freq way.

Skeleton Keys.
Formed in the summer of 2010, The Skeleton Keys have spent the last year introducing them to the Liverpool gigging circuit and crafting their song writing skills. Using bands like The La’s and The Strokes to influence them, the Skeleton Keys will have you humming their songs on the way out of the door.

Liverpool four piece Heights, present well crafted songs and energetic performances. Formed in 2010, Heights got straight down to perfecting their song writing skills using the Brit pop and classic rock as inspiration. Definitely a band to look out for.

The synth punk quintet hailing from the wrong side of the Mersey formed back in 2009, these wanna be scousers have spent their time wisely crafting their own diverse sound with the energy of bands like Gallows or Enter Shikari.

The Vigilantes.
Three passionate lads responsible for the firing ball of grunge energy that is The Vigilantes. Formed just over a year ago and being our youngest finalists this year they have spent their time wisely honing their sound and playing the width and breadth of Merseyside. A big sound influenced by the likes of Nirvana and Led Zeppelin creating an intense grunge noise with hair raising guitar riffs.
