Frakture presents a rare chance to hear unique music from Gayle, Parker and Sanders, inspired music; truly original and total commitment; brilliantly eloquent free playing; biblical intensity and harsh lyricism. Two sets too!

“..[Gayle] creates some of the most disturbingly powerful music jazz has yet borne witness to.” Brian Morton / Richard Cook Penguin Guide to Jazz

The Mark Sanders/Charles Gayle/William Parker trio brings together UK’s leading free jazz drummer, Mark Sanders, with two of the leading players on the post Coltrane black scene in New York, saxophonist Charles Gayle and bass player William Parker. British players leading a group with top players from the US is an increasing trend and a sign of the strength of the British scene. William Parker is strongly associated with New York’s Vision Festival, which he organises with his wife Patricia Nicholson and in the 2006 festival Charles Gayle performing just on alto saxophone played a storming set with William Parker on bass. Strong passionate music!
