Liverpool Gets Crafty at the Summer Arts Market

On Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 July, Open Culture’s second edition of the Summer Arts Market captured the imagination of  people across Liverpool as St Georges Hall was transformed into an arty shoppers paradise, with thousands of unique and original artworks, crafts and gifts on offer.

The Summer Arts Market, just like its Winter counterpart in December, is a handmade wonderland offering shoppers an alternative to the high street, encouraging visitors to buy local and support well over 100 of the regions best artists and crafts people, whilst enjoying the breathtaking surroundings of the Grade I listed heritage site.

The weekend event was organised by social enterprise Open Culture in partnership with St Georges Hall and also offered shoppers a chance to take a well-earned rest in the pop up café courtesy of Cuthbert’s Bakehouse and little scientists the chance to get crafty making Peeping Periscopes with Dr Kaz and Dr Caz of KECS creative, just in time for viewing the Giants!

The Winter Arts Market returns to St Georges Hall on 6 & 7 December 2014.
