Writing on The Wall and Pulp Idol 2007

The annual Writing on the Wall Festival is back in May 2007 and includes the popular Pulp Idol at Hemingway’s Cafe 52 Duke Street. May 15-18th.

In Pulp Idol, unpublished writers get the chance to present their work to a panel of judges (writers, agents and publishers) to compete for the chance to meet up with a top publisher, and maybe see their work in print. This year’s special guest is Dan Franklin, from legendary publishers, Random House. Prizes on offer include copies of The Writer’s Workbook, and a three-day residential writing course at Ty Nwydd, the National Writers’ Centre for Wales, with writer Jenny Newman.

The heats will take place on Tuesday 15th, Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th May, in Hemingway’s Café, 52 Duke Street, Liverpool, L1 5AA, from 5pm until 7pm.

The final will take place on Friday 18th May, in Hemingway’s Café, 17.00 – 19.00

Also featuring in the week-long festival are such delights as Benjamin Zephaniah back inna Liverpool with Friends, Martin Smith on John Coltrane, In the Red – Poetry Magazine Launch, Artist Talk: Leroy Cooper in Conversation with Bryan Biggs and loads more.
