The School of the Arts are looking for an experienced Lecturer in Textiles and Fashion who possesses a diverse range of academic, practical and professional skills relevant to the field. The suitably qualified candidate will be expected to contribute to the delivery of existing BA (Hons) Textiles and Surface Design and BA (Hons) Art and Design with Year 0 programmes and to contribute to the development and delivery of new Textiles and Fashion based courses.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach at any level, which may include Foundation Level/Year 0, M.A and PhD programme, using a variety of methods such as lectures, seminars, workshops, exhibitions and the supervision of projects.
It would be an advantage that the successful candidate has professional experience in the field of Textiles and Fashion and is able to both teach and demonstrate practical textile techniques and making and manufacturing skills.
A good honours degree and a postgraduate degree in a relevant subject is essential as is the willingness to hold/obtain a teaching qualification and/or PhD.
The ability to deal sympathetically with students is essential, as is the ability to work effectively as a collaborative team member.
