Reference Number: 25/2016
Salary: £21,901 to £37,378 p.a.
Permanent, full time post.
Teacher of Art & Design – Graphic Design specialism
This will be a demanding but rewarding opportunity for a well organised, committed and knowledgeable Graphic Design specialist to deliver AS and A2 Graphic Design (AQA) and other Art & Design subjects when the timetable demands. The current post holder, for example, delivered the 2D Units to the Level 2 Cambridge Technical Diploma in 2014/15 and has also contributed to the Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art, Design and Media.
The majority of students opt for AS and A2 Graphic Design wanting to develop their Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign skills, although other disciplines such as mixed media and photography have been included on the course in recent years with a high degree of success.
The Graphic Design course has evolved over the past two years in order to provide the students with more advanced digital skills as well as a comprehensive understanding of industry practice, a move that has been welcomed by visiting designers, Examiners, Apprenticeship providers and Universities alike. The move to an industry focused course has also seen a significant improvement for results, with AS high grades predicted at above 65% this year.
