We are a vibrant award winning Media Department. Our programmes include Filmmaking, Acting, Photography, Animation, Creative Multimedia and Film and Media Studies. Our staff members are all highly skilled practitioners and researchers who work internationally. We are innovative and reflective in our methods; taking the best from the past with our eyes on the future. We offer an enquiring, experimental experience to our students with opportunities to apply these skills to a range of roles in the highly competitive international Media market place.

We have excellent contacts both locally and internationally and our students have the opportunity to undertake work experience in some of the UK’s leading Media companies.

Manchester School of Art is a pioneer of art and design education in the UK and offers a broad range of architecture, art, design, media and theatre courses. Experimentation and collaboration are at the heart of what we do and our award-winning Benzie Building, opened last year on our 175th anniversary, confirms this approach – encouraging staff and students to work across disciplines and explore common ground.

The BA Hons Photography programme is a practice-based course which aims to develop students’ creativity and independent thinking, equipping them with the skills to become a confident, unique and professional photographic practitioner. The course enables a wide range of diverse approaches to photography and other related mediums. Students are introduced to a range of research methods and technical skills that expand their understanding of photography and open out their creativity.

The post holder will be required to teach and contribute to the on-going management and development of the B.A. Hons Photography programme. The post holder will also be responsible for elements of operational management, where she/he will be expected to have an oversight of student satisfaction and quality procedures.
