In February 2015 The Whitworth, part of the University of Manchester, reopened as an expanded gallery in the park. With new exhibition galleries, collections and study centre, learning studio, Grand Hall and beautiful art garden, we are a transformed gallery. In our first year we have welcomed 450,000+ visitors, been crowned Museum of the Year and won a national RIBA award for our beautiful building.

We wish to recruit a senior curator with extensive experience of working with artists and with fine art collections of all types. We are particularly looking for experience of coordinating programmes and complex projects as well as managing budgets, colleagues and partners. You will contribute to maintaining the strong international profile of our exhibitions and collection-based work.

Interviews will take place on Wednesday, 13 April 2016.

As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as black and minority ethnic (BME)/male candidates are currently under-represented at this level in this area, we would particularly welcome applications from BME/male applicants. All appointments will be made on merit.
