Programme Administrator, Barra Culture: Creative People and Places

Barra Culture is looking to appoint an exceptional individual, to be an integral part of the cultural change in Barrow-in-Furness.  Barra Culture is one of 12 Creative People & Places (CPP) projects recently awarded funding by Arts Council England. CPP is a national initiative that aims to increase the number of people choosing, creating and taking part in brilliant art experiences in the places where they live, particularly where evidence shows that people are less involved in arts and cultural activities than elsewhere in England.

We seek an administrative professional with an interest in the arts and community, ready for a full-time appointment as a central figure within a new team in Barrow-in-Furness.

We are looking for a dedicated member of staff to join the team who will be responsible for organising and providing a comprehensive, confidential administrative, financial and data-oriented service for the programme including the preparation, administration and maintenance of appropriate records and looking after team communications.  Work will be undertaken across multiple projects simultaneously in a busy office environment.

The post holder will develop and review administrative, financial and data management procedures to process and keep accurate and orderly control of the Programme’s budgets and accounts, schedules and project records including, liaising directly with funders, suppliers and programme staff as required.

The role will involve working closely with the Programme Director on the day-to-day running of the Programme as well as supporting the wider team in their delivery.                 

Salaried, full-time 37 hours per week, fixed term until 31st October 2024.

Salary: £19,500 per annum.      

The position will be based in the office of Women’s Community Matters, within the Nan Tait Centre in Barrow-in-Furness.
